February 2012
hey 07! you better get back to chapel hill for a pizza and pasta calzone before they close this summer and become tomato jake’s. UGH. franklin street pizza and pasta was my first memory of coming to chapel hill!
Their fresh tomato basil dressing is one of my very favorite things. I stop by Village on 15-501 at least once a week, I crave that salad dressing so hard. Glad that the other store is staying open. UGH BUT WHY MORE CHAINS, FRANKLIN. COME ON.
sadness.
Saturday we went to Cornelia Street Cafe for brunch. I dropped 30 bucks on a cup of coffee, two slices of tomato, 4 pieces of potato, 3 slices of bread, and 2 eggs over easy with three strips of limp bacon that was billed on the menu as “thick cut.” Disappointment abounded.
So after having a tasty brunch at Kittichai yesterday, with delish blood orange prosecco mimosas, we drank the afternoon away in the West Village.
I picked up a slice from Bleecker Street pizza and that was the last good thing I ate yesterday. I ordered dinner from a pizza place on seamlessweb that had 20% off and ordered carbonara because I was craving some creamy pasta.
What I got was bacon, egg, and spaghetti. No sauce, no spice, no creaminess. Scrambled eggs, bacon, and pasta. If I hadnt still been kind of drunk, I wouldve called and demanded my money back.
Today I went to Subway for lunch because I spent my money on grown up productive things booze and food this weekend. I wanted tomatoes but had the guy take them on and off twice when I tried to explain….I DONT WANT TOMATO CORES ON MY SANDWICH. What the fuck? There was a quarter of an inch of red on those “tomatoes.” Why cant they cut them better? They also made a shitty sloppy Subway club without the amount of meat its supposed to have.
I know this is a dumb rant because there are people starving in the world, but Im just mad I spent around 60 bucks in 3 days on shitty food.
Why not start your Monday off right? With 100 photos of true beauty and elegance personified.
Good morning!
It’s not that hard to eat healthy. I just made two kale salads in 5 minutes after getting home at 11 and working since 9 am. But it is easier and sometimes more delicious to eat something quicker and badder!
