So my friend just emailed me asking for restaurant recommendations for her friend (from France) who was coming to visit the Big Apple. Since she’s French, I figured I wouldn’t recommend anything too overtly French (why travel to eat food you could get at home?). I have only lived in NC for 4 years, the thought of the natives driving in the weather they are predicting scares the fuck out of me.
I’m not worried about me driving. My dad taught me how to drive in ice and snow.

dad came to work to pick me up and we went and got him a hot chocolate at jacques torres. then we went to mcsorleys for beers and then hit up pommes frites and i showed him my old apartment on st marks. met joan at bowery bar for a light dinner before heading back here.
today we went to my bagel place in my hood that is awesome, then headed west to the natural history museum for some dino fun....
